Our Story

Just Be Organic – nicknamed JBO – sprouted from a union of hearts, minds, and spirits committed to skin’s health and happy living.

My name is Alex and I was raised in a home where plants were not just decorations, but a way of life, thanks to my mother – an agricultural engineer with the heart of a medicine woman. Childhood ailments were healed with nature’s own remedies, from onion-honey concoctions for cough to soothing layers of homemade yogurt and aloe vera for sun burns, all crafted by hands that smelled of flowers and yummy things because, you see .. nature was her beauty salon too!

Many, many years passed, but those lessons in nature’s nurture remained safely in my heart, only to resurface when I faced my greatest health challenge. As my body braved the rigours of cancer treatment, my skin became delicate, reacting to the slightest chemical touch with rashes and discomfort. In those trying times, the wisdom of my mother became my fortress. I’ve started to experiment with natural oils and I was astonished by their healing power. 

In this quest for healing, fate stepped in and brought my partner into my life, Damien. A kindred spirit, whose life in the surf and sun had led him down a parallel path in search of healing and natural rejuvenation for the skin. He already has found a blend that was incredibly powerful and healing … and smelled so good! It was the aroma of nature on his skin that drew me closer, and that misunderstood lean-in for a closer scent led to a kiss and sparked a connection destined to grow.

Together, we embarked on a journey to source the finest organic oils and craft more formulations that nourish, heal, and rejuvenate. Our shared passion blossomed into JBO, a labor of love dedicated to the health and youthfulness of your skin, as nurtured by nature.
